Our dogs have been consuming raw food for the past 8 years now. Prior to that when they were eating kibble (the best quality we knew of), their poops were huge and lots of it. Now their poops are very small (in fact I have to search to find them) and the poop doesn’t stink. That tells me that the kibble “food” was just passing through the body instead of being absorbed for nutrition, The evidence was plain to see. Their coats are shiny and they are energetic. When we took our 9 year old German Shorthair Pointer to the vet to look at a small lump (which turned out to be nothing), the vet thought she was 3 years old. The Vet couldn’t believe she was 9. At almost 11 now, she still runs around like a wild puppy ! Raw food makes all the difference. What you put in is what you get out.
Hi Diane, thank you so much for this incredible review! It's absolutely amazing to hear about your 8-year journey with raw feeding and all the incredible benefits you've experienced. You're so right about the difference in their poops - those small, non-smelly poops are definitely one of the clearest signs that their bodies are actually absorbing and using all the nutrition instead of just passing it through like with kibble. We love hearing about those shiny coats and high energy levels too, that's exactly what proper nutrition through a species-appropriate diet should deliver! And wow, what an incredible story about your German Shorthair Pointer - having the vet think she was 3 when she was actually 9 is such amazing proof of how raw feeding can keep our dogs looking and feeling so much younger. At almost 11 and still acting like a wild puppy, she's living proof that "what you put in is what you get out" as you perfectly put it! Thank you for being such a dedicated part of the Raw Squad for all these years and for sharing your wonderful experience!
My mixed breed, 3+ year old devoured this. I knocked a star off, because of all the raw food proteins we've tried so far - this was by far the smelliest. It definitely was not pleasant.
However - it never stayed in the bowl long enough to be an issue.
Hi Taylor, thank you for your review. Yes, the tripe can be a stinky addition, but the dogs LOVE IT, and to a dog, the stinkier the better. Not to mention how nutritious tripe is for the pups. Thank you for your support!
My dogs love it and wouldn’t stick their nose up to it but I have to limit the amount they get because if they get too much they’ll throw up fur. I’ll take a 2lb tube of this blend and cut it up into 1 inch slices and put a slice or two in a weeks worth of food for my dogs and they love every bit of it.
Hi Kyle, thank you for the great review! It's wonderful to hear that your dogs love the Ground Rabbit & Beef Tripe blend, and it sounds like you've found a perfect system for feeding it. You're absolutely right to be mindful of the amount, rabbit fur can definitely cause some tummy upset if they get too much at once, so your approach of cutting it into smaller portions and mixing it into their weekly meals is really smart. That way they still get to enjoy this special treat without any digestive issues. Thanks for being part of the Raw Squad and for sharing your feeding tips!
