Our Story Starts with a Pet Parents Worse Nightmare
Back in 2000, a Yellow Lab named Trevor was out of time. His vet had nothing left to try, and his owner was preparing to say goodbye. What happened next changed our family forever, and eventually built the company we run today.
THE MOMENT THAT STARTED IT ALL
On Death's Door
Trevor was five years old, premium kibble-fed, and failing. His owner, Tom, had run out of options. When the vet said there was nothing more to do, Tom started researching.
After lots of digging he found something he wasn't expecting story after story of dogs getting better on real raw, real-food diets. No marketing. No hype. Just others describing what they saw with their own eyes.

Reading the Bag
The more Tom learned about what was actually in his dog's premium (and expensive) kibble, the more he was convinced he had to try something different. His journey into raw began.
The best part is this nightmare had a beautiful ending. Trevor made a full and glorious recovery. Like many, Trevor's vet wasn't convinced the raw diet deserved the credit, but Tom was. He started telling everyone who'd listen. And I was one that listened.
DEDE'S DOC
A Dachshund Named Doc
At the same time, DeDe had a 2-year-old Dachshund named Doc. Doc wasn't sick. He didn't have allergies or a mysterious illness. He was a perfectly healthy dog.
But after watching what happened to Trevor, DeDe wasn't taking any chances. Out went the kibble. In came the raw. Doc lived to the ripe ole age of 17.

After years of feeding raw and seeing the results in our own dogs, we started Raw Dog Food and Company. to make the same kind of food accessible, affordable, and easy to order for other families. Today, we're a direct-to-consumer raw dog food company based in Colorado, shipping nationwide and delivering locally across the Front Range.
